Diva Love: Monstrous Beauty

A damaged man. A strange young woman.
Secrets that can bring them together, or tear them apart.

Review-Monstrous Beauty by Carol E. Keen

I enjoyed this quick-moving period piece, which is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a touch of Cinderella. The era was not specified, but I appreciated the historic language and setting that Ms. Keen provided. There were so many raw emotions involved in this story. Annabelle and Ethan shared the same feelings of sadness, rejection and loss. I loved how their lives intersected at a mutual place of comfort with a connection to both of their mothers and how they brought a sense of joy to each other that had seemed elusive for most of their lives. I didn't want to leave the story without finding out what secrets Annabelle and Ethan would reveal and if their newfound love could survive.

Many thanks to Ms. Keen and Celebrate Lit for my free copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.

"This is perfect for girls of all ages. There are valuable lessons throughout the story and the author makes sure to point the readers towards God."

Ethan's father did a number on him, to say the least. In his passing, he left Ethan a wealthy man, but a severely damaged one. More than one person has considered him to be "beastly". Annabelle is unique and could be his only chance at love, but she has secrets of her own. Can they achieve true forgiveness before their world collapses?

"My entire world got zoned out as I fell into the enchanting world of Ethan (the beast) and Annabelle (the beauty) and wow, I was just swept away! I LOVED how the relationship gradually grew..."

"If you love fairy-tales then you will love The Beauty Series!! I highly recommend these books to anyone!! The Beast here is a selfless hero and the villain(s) were quite a surprise."

"I don't want to spoil anything, so I will just say that I love the reason why Ethan is a 'beast' and that whole backstory was gripping. And I was cheering for these two, with the clever obstacles that kept coming up. If you are looking for a lovely romance story, you'll love this."

Sometimes we lose vision, and we're blinded by our desires,
but the Lord always cares about us, and he always inspires

a servant of his to show each of us some clues
that he will always love us, and his guidance, we'll never lose.

From our birth to our death, he will always be there
to cleanse us of our sins and enable us to care

and love every one of our brothers and sisters in his name,
for he loves us so much, he totally cleansed everyone's shame.

Kids' Korner Review: Eraser by Anna Kang

I am a storyteller, so when I was a substitute teacher, my favorite part of the day was sitting in the rocking chair with the kids gathered around for story-time. They loved how animated I would get and they encouraged my plan to write children's books someday, especially those with life lessons. For now I am shining the spotlight on a great book of the genre, Eraser by Anna King. Check out my review and be sure to get your copy!

My Review: Eraser by Anna Kang

My four-year old and I had so much fun reading this book! We loved the unique illustrations and banter between the characters. It was engaging and packed with nibbles of wisdom on valuing yourself, as well as others. This delightful story does a fantastic job showcasing how we all have different, and sometimes hidden, qualities that play an important part in everyday life. I look forward to reading more from the author.
